Data Sharing and Privacy Policy

BASW  are committed to responsible data management and subscribe to the principals of the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) in the United Kingdom. Emails and listing information processed through the Social Work Professional Support Service are stored securely within BASW, and a web-based platform hosted by Microsoft and are subject to BASW’s Data Protection and privacy policies.

All discussions between the volunteer coach and coachee are kept confidential. Volunteer coaches will not record any personal information and the coachee is responsible for taking their own notes. If a volunteer coach has any significant professional concerns or other issues regarding the social worker that arise during the coaching sessions, these will need to be reported to the Social Work Professional Support Service Team who will decide what action to take. This may include further reporting to relevant bodies. The social worker will be informed of any such actions unless there is a clear justification for not doing so.

BASW will collect anonymised data for the evaluation of the Social Work Professional Support Service and this data will not be used for any other purpose without express knowledge and consent.

The purpose of this data collection is as follows:

We will collect this data form a variety of sources (e.g. the digital booking system and feedback forms) and will use the data for regular reporting purposes and internal review. We will securely store the data and will delete it once the project has been completed.
